Product Designer
We are looking for a product designer to join our growing team to help us manage the Scenery product. You will be expected to think holistically and encourage your teammates to think beyond what they're building.
Scenery is redefining how video is created in today's distributed, connected world. We are building a professional collaborative video editing platform with the power of desktop applications combined with the inherent advantages collaboration and distribution of the web.
We are looking for a product designer to join our growing team to help us manage the Scenery.video product. You will be expected to think holistically and encourage your teammates to think beyond what they're building.

This full time role can be joined from our SF location where the current management team is located, or anywhere in the US.
Responsibilities
- Work with the CEO, design, engineering to develop and articulate product strategy
- Help create and implement UX and visual designs, write specifications, test features, prioritize releases and work side by side with engineering to ship features. You’ll have to wear a few hats!
- Work closely with product, engineering and QA to plan sprints, triage user experience issues, prioritize work and keep the company’s operations humming
- Interact with customers to understand their needs and how we might better serve them, using both your judgement from knowing similar tools and interpreting customers words
- Work in a dynamic team, provide feedback and contribute to product decisions
We are looking for people with the following experience and skills:
- 4+ years of experience designing or managing complex web or desktop creative products (eg video creation, design, motion graphics or other creative products)
- Experience building creative tools and deep understanding of developing creative software
- Ideally, experience in video, either in using tools or producing content. If you don’t have this directly, a way to demonstrate a deep understanding of and empathy for our customer’s current workflows, technology, tools, needs and opportunities as well as organizational and project management experience
- Detail oriented, highly technical and able to work closely with engineering and design to make sure requirements and issues are well written, actionable and have appropriate design detail. Eager to clarify details and take on tasks to make the team efficient
- A great communicator and presenter. Able to articulate customer problems to the team, clearly write specs and plans and effectively communicate what we’re trying to do and why
- Experienced in iterating concepts, prototyping, iterating designs and putting them into production with teammates
- A proven track record of biasing to action and a strong sense of ownership in what you’re working on
- Proficient in Figma, Notion, and task management tools like Linear or Jira
- Working knowledge of creative video tools like Premiere, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, iMovie
The Company
Scenery is Series A-backed by Greylock, Craft Ventures, and Figma. The founding team has started 2 previous companies that created cloud based video editors together: SnappyTV which sold to Twitter in 2014 and Jumpcut, which Yahoo! acquired in 2006. We have experience leading large product and engineering teams as well as startup and growth stage ventures. Scenery previously raised a series seed round led by Freestyle.vc with Precursor Ventures, Wireframe Ventures, Transmedia Capital, Rembrandt VC and UpHonest capital participating along with amazing individual investors. We are ~20 employees but growing, focused on building and iterating our product to meet customer needs
